We all know Marvel. We all grew up with at least some of their characters and now are children are reading them just as ferociously as we did. Who did you grow up with? The list of characters from their vaults top 4700! The most common memories come from the big names: X-Men, Spiderman, The Hulk, Daredevil, Micronauts, G.I. Joe, Red Skull, Maverick, Apocalypse and too many more to mention.
Marvel is one of the biggest character-based entertainment companies. They focus their efforts in three areas: entertainment (Marvel Studios), licensing and comic book publishing and toys (Toy Biz). These guys put out films, DVD/VHS, video games, and television based on all of its characters. They license the characters for use on clothes, collectibles, snack foods and various promotions. The comic heroes and plot lines are created in the comic book division which is growing all the time.
We are all sentimental at times and the very things that bring this out in all of us is something special from our childhood. Marvel is a beacon of childhood for thousands of kids and grown- ups. What’s wrong with a little sentimentality? These characters are unforgettable! And isn’t that what life is all about... having a bit of fun.
