ITCHY & SCRATCHY
O.K., We have all seen this show. It is, as Shakespeare called it, a play within a play. Perhaps this classic formula is responsible for the tremendous success of such a couple. Perhaps it is the bond that keeps Itchy and Scratchy together week after week. What ever it is, the kids in Springfield love it. And so do we.
Now, we are discussing a rather violent little short animation creation. Maybe that’s why Marge is always showing her disgust towards the show by making that little noise she makes. You know, that kind of growly, gurgley noise that we all actually think is funny. Never mind, she hardly ever turns the television off. How could she do that to Bart and Lisa?
The storylines for Itchy & Scratchy are not very complicated. Itchy is a cute little mouse that uses guns, cannons or whatever is handy to pulverize his best pal, Scratchy. Scratchy is an innocent little cat that also uses weapons of incredible force to try to squelch his best pal, Itchy. I guess it’s safe to say they are involved in a bit of a love/ hate relationship.
