Horses are beautiful animals that are often associated with farms and horse racing. Before they were domesticated, horses were very wild and suspicious of humans. It took many tries from our ancestors before the horse would even co-operate. Prior to the horse being used as transportation, there were donkeys, mules and ponies.

Horses come in many colors and sizes; and although they are domesticated they still require constant observation. Not just anyone can ride a horse, there is skill involved. It’s not only necessarily a matter of riding the horse that requires skill, but also establishing a trusting relationship with the animal. Horses are temperamental and if they are unsettled, watch out! However, once you develop a strong relationship with a horse, you will find yourself with one faithful and trustworthy companion.

Underneath all of the caution that is taken with horses, they prove to be a fine species and an asset to not only the human race, but to their owners as well. Horses are greatly loved by many people. It’s a dream of many people to go horse back riding. We are fortunate enough to be privileged with such an option. We also have the luxury of attending horse races and are able to see these magnificent creatures in all of their glory.

Anyone who has ridden a horse knows the freedom and adventure a horse can give.
