FAMILY GUY
FAMILY GUY - UNCANCELLED
Peter Griffin: I'd sell my soul to be famous.
Satan: We got a live one. Peter Griffin.
Satan's Assistant: No good, sir. It seems he already sold his soul once in 1977 for Bee Gees tickets and then again in 1983 for half a Mallomar.
FIFTEEN MINUTES OF SHAME
Family Guy is coming back to Fox and to celebrate they are running back-to-back encore episodes each Sunday during January. The 4th Season starts on May 1st. For quite sometime Family Guy has been making its home with Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network. As far as we know you'll still be able to catch all of its zaniness there in rerun, as well as with a whole fleet of new Family Guy DVD sets.
QUAHOG, RHODE ISLAND
We'd give you the run down of who the characters are, but if you haven't seen the show then for crying out loud what are you waiting for? If you liked the Simpsons, you'll love the Family Guy. It makes everything else on TV look tame. The show is laugh-out-loud intelligent; it's stocked with enough rapid fire dialogue and scenes crammed with obscure pop culture reference to make you pee your pants with delight.
O' CANADA
Stewie, the one year old and newest member of the Griffin clan is bent of world domination and if it weren't for his lack of muscle mass, need of parental sustenance and lack of toilet training he would have already conquered most of the third world including Canada.
PARTY OF FIVE
In the Family Guy episode, "E. Peterbus Unum" Peter mentions he couldn't get over the fact that "Party of Five" was cancelled. Both, "Family Guy" and "Party of Five" were Fox shows that were cancelled and brought back by popular demand after thousands of fans wrote to the network. Actress, Lacey Chabert, appeared in both of these shows. She was regular on "Party of Five" and was the uncredited voice of Meg Griffin for the Family Guy's first season.
FROM THE VAULT
Peter, the dad, and Brian, the family dog, are extremely similar to characters, Larry and Steve from the animated shorts, "Larry & Steve" and "The Life of Larry". They featured a moronic man who adopts a talking dog and puts the dog through hell. Both of these were written and directed by "Family Guy" creator, Seth McFarlane.
DO AS THE ROMANS DO
"The Life of Larry" was originally going to be a filler cartoon on Fox's show, MAD TV, but the deal fell through. If it had it would have put it on the same track as the "Simpsons", which also started out as a filler cartoon for the Tracy Ullman Show. Luckily Fox saw the genius in it and gave Seth $50,000 to create a pilot episode and the show went on to become a hit for the network. "Boogie Nights" and "Magnolia" actor, William H. Macy originally auditioned for the voice role of Brian. He is now voiced by creator, Seth McFarlane. He also supplies the voice for Peter, Stewie, Glen Quagmire and Tom Tucker.
BEHOLD, THE CREATOR
You might be surprised to learn that Seth McFarlane is a young guy of only 32. You might not be surprised that he hails from New England where his beloved characters also reside. He was raised in Kent, Connecticut by his parents, Ron and Perry with his one sister, Rachael. He attended the Rhode Island School of Design and was hired by the fledgling Cartoon Network to animate and write for their then new shows, "Johnny Bravo" and "Cow and Chicken".
THANK THE TRAVEL AGENT
Do to a mix up with his travel agent on a return flight from Boston to Los Angeles, he missed his flight after he had been a keynote speaker at his alma mater in Rhode Island. He was told the flight was to leave at 8:15AM, but it actually took off at 7:45AM. The plane he missed turned out to be the fatal flight of American Airlines Flight 11, which was hijacked and flown into the World Trade Center on that morning of September 11, 2001.
AMERICAN DAD
