BREAKFAST CLUB
One of the best movies that came out of the 1980’s.
The Breakfast Club is recognized as one of the most popular movies of the 80’s. The storyline is very basic, and there isn’t much action, but what the movie does encompass is realistic teenage emotions and problems that really capture the attention of the audience who watch the movie. Each of the characters introduced to the movie, bring different elements and stories that are interesting and moving.
The movie takes place during the course of a Saturday, when 5 students come together in the library of their high school to serve a detention. Each of the students represents different social types of the school population. There is Claire Standish (Molly Ringwald), who is the prima donna associated with the popular girls of the school. Andrew Clark (Emilio Estevez) who is one of the sports jocks. Brian Johnson (Anthony Michael Hall) is the geek of the group. John Bender (Judd Nelson) is the troublemaker, and Allison Reynolds (Ally Sheedy), who is the eccentric outcast.
Throughout the movie, the teens struggle to get along, and eventually begin to understand, respect and make unique friendships with one another. They explain the reasons why each of them are serving the detention, and the movie ends with each of them leaving with much different attitudes then when they first began the day.
If you are fan of the breakfast club you have probably watched the movie so many times you can recite the script by heart. If you love this movie, you won’t want to pass up the chance of purchasing your own Breakfast Club t-shirt!
