ANIMAL HOUSE
The very first of the National Lampoon’s fabulous comedy classics. Animal house first came out in 1978, a great year for timeless comedy masterpieces.
This is one of those incredible movies that just seems to work for all the wrong reasons. It’s disgusting, lowbrow, and contains that base type of humour that we are all much too sophisticated to find amusing in any way…so just don’t tell anyone that you think it’s an absolute laugh riot when you’re watching John Belushi as the brutish Bluto slurp Jell-O or terrorize his less-aggressive fellow students.
This crude parody of college life in the '60s spawned many imitations, but none could match the fresh-faced talent or bad taste of this huge box office success. This film actually doesn't have a lot of plot. It is set in fictional Faber college in 1962 and chronicles the struggle between two student fraternities - Omegas, nice, by-the-book, rich, arrogant and powerful students, and Deltas, nonconformist losers who, instead of studying, spend all their time for alcohol, drugs, sex and different kinds of orgies. Their activity become the thorn in the side of the college administration who decide to kick them all out. But the brave Deltas would refuse to give up without a fight, that would culminate in the apocalyptic parade in the end.
This irreverent campus comedy classic marks its 25th anniversary in the year 2003, so what better way to celebrate such an important marker than by wearing an Animal House tee that is just as great as the movie?
